Abstract

The importance of choosing the title "The Impact of the Presence of Foreign Forces (the US Coalition) on Iraqi Territory on Iraqi Criminal Policy" stems from the radical transformations Iraq witnessed in its political and legal system after 2003, particularly with regard to the presence of foreign forces, particularly the US-led coalition forces. This presence had a profound impact on Iraqi criminal policy, both in terms of regulatory legislation and judicial practices. The aim of the study is to analyze the legal framework and Iraqi criminal policy regarding this presence, while highlighting the challenges and repercussions for national sovereignty and the Iraqi judiciary. The study uses a descriptive and analytical approach, describing international and domestic events and situations from 2003 to the present day, analyzing the relevant UN resolutions, the resolutions issued by the Coalition Provisional Authority before the formation of the Iraqi government in 2006, and the provisions of joint agreements between the United States (the coalition command) and Iraq
